Pave Your Own
Paving the unknown
That space where you are endlessly wise
and completely lost.
You ask for advice
but nothing feels right.
Where you have all the answers you need inside you
and also have no clue where to look.
So you stop asking for directions to places they have never been
and you have yet to discover.
Fear sets in
So you offer it grace
Somedays you feel powerful
Other days you cry,
a lot
Regardless, you trust
Not because you know
But because paving the unknown
Means trusting the confusion
And surrendering to the unanswered
When there is a fork in the road
and you don’t want to take either path
You pave your own
the spoken word
I conceive these pieces with the beat of my heart,
then birth them with the fire of my voice.
