The Night of the Sun’s Birth

let’s gather

on the longest night of the year, and invite the sun’s (re)birth

“The Night of the Sun’s Birth”

December 21st is the winter solstice, which is celebrated across cultures in different festivities such as Yule and shab-e yalda. This is the longest night of the year, and also known as the night the sun is (re)born.

In the case of shab-e yalda, it is celebrated by coming together to eat, drink and read poetry.

Reflection:

  • What part of your darkness will you embrace?

  • What part of your light will you illuminate?

HOW to participate:

  • Read your own writing/poetry

  • Read someone else's writing/poetry

  • Sing a song

  • Play an instrument

  • Another offering you feel called to share on this winter solstice
